Since 2011 to 2018, Karla will once again work to coordinate and curate the wonderful Wardarnji Festival and this year will be the festival's 4rd year to be held at night as a specialised Noongar dance and culture festival with over 100 Indigenous dancers and record crowds.
For the 3nd year the festival will have the honour of opening the Fremantle Festival Program - a true welcome to all and great celebration. 26th October 2018 at the Fremantle Arts Centre.
Karla works all-year-through with Perth's own little Noongar hip-hop crew - Beat Walkers, alongside her colleague Fleur Hockey.
Based out of Midland Beat Walkers are a Noongar hip-hop program which has been running for 4 years and this program has just secured an additional two more years of funding. The kids perform all over Perth at community and corporate events - including their recent appearance for the Indigenous round at a West Coast Eagles game and at NAIDOC round at the Western Force home ground NIB stadium.
Public Events + NAIDOC Week
Karla has become a clear and resonant voice in WA and has been kept busy doing a fair bit of public speaking and dancing for reconciliation week and numerous cultural events through WA.
During NAIDOC through-out July as a public speaker as well as a specialist presenting Noongar song and dance at schools - including;

In May/June and July Karla will be working alongside the Edmund Rice Centre and their youth group to create a dance piece and film clip based on this years NAIDOC theme which will be screened at Yagan Square during NAIDOC.
